Are you certain there are significantly better choices for walking? I don't remember which Hawaiian island we were on when my brother and I chose to walk rather than use a bus or taxi, and people looked at us kind of weird when asked for suggested routes to take. Seems like people in Hawaii don't get around on foot much.
